“Old Dogs”
Our old dog, Chester, sits alone,
and all he does is chew his bone.
I hear him gnawing without end;
his grinding drives me round the bend.
An old dog’s job must be to chew;
I guess that’s what all old dogs do.
Therefore it is because of that,
sometimes I wish he was a cat.
This recalled to mind some old dogs I have known.

A cat can often sleep all day
then wake at night and want to play
just as you’ve nodded off I bet
they can be awfully boring, yet……………..so gorgeous!

They are lovely creatures. I am a dog person, however. We have three of them —The Sillies.

All my cat does is lick, and scratch. I am thinking I might want a dog. Yay for pets!! This poem invoked some fond Dr Seuss . Nice!!!
